Dot
A downloadable game
The goal: To be the last player to have cards in their deck
Requirements
- A deck of 52 playing cards
- A single die (You can use a digital dice app or a physical dice)
- 3 to 6 players (You can have 2 players but I would recommend 3 or more)
Instructions
- Each Player starts with 6 cards and One person in the group will roll the die to see how many cards can be placed down.
- When someone rolls the dice, everyone will place a number of cards that will be placed down that correlates to the number of the dice.
- 1 on the dice →1 card must be placed down
- 2 on the dice →2 cards must be placed down
- 3 on the dice →3 cards must be placed down
- 4 on the dice →4 cards must be placed down
- 5 on the dice →5 cards must be placed down
- 6 on the dice →6 cards must be placed down
- After the cards are placed, Count up your cards and the person with the highest amount of points wins the round.
- The winner and the rest of the players will roll dice to add back cards to their deck.
- 1 on the dice →1 card picked out of the deck
- 2 on the dice →2 cards picked out of the deck
- 3 on the dice →3 cards picked out of the deck
- 4 on the dice →4 cards picked out of the deck
- 5 on the dice →5 cards picked out of the deck
- 6 on the dice →6 cards picked out of the deck
Outcomes for the players
Winner of the round: If you are the winner of that round and you will roll the dice to replenish your deck and to take more cards to make a reserved deck, so if you have 4 cards and you rolled a 6, you get 2 in your deck and 4 into your reserved deck.
The rest of the players: You can only have 6 cards in your deck, so if you have 4 cards, and the dice show 3, you can only take 2 cards out of the deck.
- In the next round, you will repeat the past steps and roll the dice. The winner from that round will take the reserved deck and build it.
- One by one player will lose their deck and the last one standing will win.
Rules
- All cards discarded will not be used for the duration of the game.
- The winner can only have the reserved deck
- The max amount of cards is: 6 cards in your hand and 6 in reserve
- If you lose your cards, you are eliminated
- There is only one reserved deck
Reserved deck
The reserved deck is used as a last stand in case the winner does not have enough cards or ran out of cards.
The reserved deck may be used in the following
- If you run out of cards and are on the brink of losing, you may take the cards before the round ends.
- The winner of each round will take the reserved deck.
- The winner can replace each card with either a good or bad card.
Tie
If there is a tie, the player who tied with each other will place their highest card to determine who will the round.
Joker card
The joker card may be used to win a round without losing a lot of cards.
The joker card may be used in the following
- Win a round without using 2 or more cards.
- There are only two in the deck
- Once used they go into the reserved deck to not be seen until the next game
Card count
The card is the amount that each card is worth
- Ace = 1 points
- 2 = 2 points
- 3 = 3 points
- 4 = 4 points
- 5 = 5 points
- 6 = 6 points
- 7 = 7 points
- 8 = 8 points
- 9 = 9 points
- 10 = 10 points
- Jack = 11 points
- Queen = 12 points
- King = 13 points
Add up the cards and the highest amount of points wins the round.
Sudden death
If there are no cards in the pickup deck the game will go into sudden death. This means everyone will place down what they have in their deck and not the reserved deck, and the highest points win the game.
